Sabada: A Digital Art For The "Ojegobu Kidoma " Dance Troop Of The Idoma Tribe 2

I had to use this medium (digital art(vector based)) to express the joy of my childhood growing up in the Sabon-Gari environs of Otukpo, Benue state.

There was this dancing troop then, (Their Ejila Mike Anyebe dancing troop) called " Ojegobu Kidoma " a.k.a "Computer Dance Group"

When I say "Ejila", you cannot come from Otukpo and don't know this guy 😂, he can dance for Africa. Him and his colleagues has really done a lot in pushing the idoma cultural dance to the lime light 🙌.

On hearing the rumbling sound of their drums during their routine rehearsal around Okwo-menka Street attracted the whole neighbourhood and passers-by, one couldn't resist the melody and energy around the place.

One of their hit track then during their performance was called "Sabada" mehn the interlude and solo of the locally made drum set when performing this track was the bomb, up to an extend that I and my peers then had to learn the dance steps 😂
